Emily

Emily

Master Bridal Specialist/Buyer
Hi! I’m Emily and I’m from Chatsworth, Georgia. I’m a 2007 graduate of Shorter College (now Shorter University) with a degree in music. I’ve been with Anya Bridal since 2010 and now serve as Master Specialist and Buyer.

I live for all things wedding-related and sometimes can’t believe I’m paid to help women find their dream gown! Dresses are a lot like guys (there’s a book idea in there somewhere) and everyone’s got their perfect one; it just might not be what you expected! I hope it’s not actually bad luck to try on bridal gowns before being engaged, cause…oops. I want you to look like yourself on your wedding day, just your absolute best self.

I’ll probably (read: definitely) want to cover you in lace and glitter, but I can fight the urge if I have to. At the risk of sounding like a complete cheese ball, I hope I’ve brought a fraction of the joy to my brides’ lives that they’ve brought to mine. I’m just too lucky!

Bridal Specialist

I grew up in the small town of Wrightsville, GA. After graduating from high school, I attended Cosmetology school at Augusta Technical College, and earned my Cosmetology license from the State Board of Georgia. I then continued my education by attending East Georgia College and finally Georgia Southern University where I received my Bachelors in General Studies with concentrations in Art, Sociology, Writing, and Business. I enjoy going to the theatre to see touring broadway musicals, traveling, and fashion! Beginning at the age of six, I developed an interest in the Prom, Pageant, and Bridal industry. I helped my cousins, friends, and family shop for all their formal attire anytime I had the chance! The wedding of Princess Diana to Prince Charles is my favorite wedding, and in my opinion, the greatest wedding of all time. I visited Diana’s wedding gown when it was on display in Atlanta, and I found it somewhat disappointing when the gown didn’t seem as magnificent as I expected; then I came to the realization that she, Lady Diana, is what made her gown so spectacular and that without her it was just empty. It is my goal to help every bride find a gown that SHE makes beautiful!

I have always had a love for fashion and glamour. As a young girl, I would often be found sketching evening gowns and wedding dresses…usually when I was suppose to be paying attention to a lesson or doing a chore! Upon graduating from the University of West Georgia with Bachelor’s in Sociology, I was certain of two things: I enjoyed helping people and I wanted to work in the Bridal industry someday. Fast forward three years I found my way to Anya Bridal, where everyday I aims to wow my brides with exceptional customer service and spot-on fashion savvy. A romantic at heart, I love “love” and enjoy hearing the stories of how couples came to be. I believe that when it comes to wedding dresses, you should expect the unexpected. So don’t be surprised if I bring you that “curveball” dress that ends up being the gown of your dreams!

Not only do I love to help each bride find the gown of her dreams, I enjoy helping her accessorize so that she can see the “total look” for her wedding day. Headpieces, veils, jewelry, shoes, pops-of-color, sashes… you name it, I’m on it!
With advanced degrees in music education and music performance from the University of Georgia and the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University, respectively, I have been a performer, clinician and music educator for several years throughout Georgia and Florida. “As soon as I got my hands on a threaded needle, my world of creativity was birthed.” As a young girl, my mother would get so upset with me because I would always find a way to perfect a garment which often times included fully deconstructing it. I lived and breathed fashion to the point of no return. To better my skills, I went to Bauder College where I earned my Associate of Fine Arts in Fashion Design and won Fashion Design Student of the Year Award in 2008. In 2012, I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion design and premiered my eveningwear collection at SCAD’s biggest event of the year, the SCAD Annual Fashion show. Throughout the years I have designed custom hand made gowns and formal dresses for the social elite of Atlanta. Each time I took on a new task, I got overwhelmed with excitement knowing that I was about to make a positive impact on one’s special day. I have truly enjoyed each project that I have taken on especially as a bride’s personal stylist. I have a strong sense of bridal style, very personable and I am a perfectionist at heart.

Brooke

From a young age Brooke’s style was a little bit of everything: southern, sexy, sophisticate, and daring. It did not take long for that love of style to turn in to a career path. While in college Brooke got to work with top industry leaders like Catherine Malandrino who mentored her during senior year. After graduating Brooke went back to her first love Evening Wear and Bridal. She was selected as a Semi-finalist for Brides Magazine “Operation Dream Dress” in 2011, opened an in house studio for her custom designs, and started working here at Anya Bridal where she helps bride’s dream dresses come true.
